Jordan & Danny's Perfect Wedding Day

There’s truly so much to see and say about Bloom Meadows in Williamstown, MA. Nestled in the heart of north county, Bloom Meadows sits on over 70 acres and is surrounded by the most stunning view of the rolling hills of the Berkshires. There are multiple sites on the property including the main barn, silo suite, a bluestone patio surrounded by bistro lights, and as of this year, they have built a gorgeous white chapel. In addition to these thoughtfully designed areas, there’s gardens (that are somehow always in bloom?!), wooden bridges that overlook the most gentle and gorgeous creek, and an open field that backs right up to the mountains.

I first toured Bloom in 2017 while planning my own wedding and was awe struck by the thought that went into the design. Sarah and Greg are incredibly talented and even after all these years, they are still heavily involved in the day-to-day and planning that goes into every single wedding there. They have an amazing and dedicated staff that supports them as well. A lot of venues include a day-of coordinator or things like that, but the team at Bloom is truly unparalleled. They are such experts when it comes to running your day and truly care about your experience.

So, when Jordan and Danny contacted me about their wedding, I was psyched. A fun and laid back couple, a gorgeous venue with an incredible staff in the middle of June? What could be better than that!

Their wedding day was sunny and hot and filled with so much good energy and people. The details were giving garden party vibes, the florals lush and whimsical. Jordan’s dress was timeless with these delicate off the shoulder straps and small buttons along her back. Danny wore a classic light blue suit with a custom monogrammed sleeve to match. They passed on having a bridal party and focused on getting ready with their parents and officiant instead. They included their closest friends during family portraits which, honestly, I loved! Everyone wants professional pictures with their best friends on their wedding day, why not have your photographer grab it during formal portraits? It was so fun, too, seeing their friend’s personal style which somehow they all photographed so well together! They were a gorgeous, colorful bunch.

We buzzed through formal portraits working off of the list that I created with them. Jordan and Danny also assigned family members who helped me organize and pull everyone for photos. Oh, and we pulled off an epic forty seven person cousin photo. I guess they capture it at every wedding and they are seasoned pros when it comes to assembling and taking this photo. Just name the time and place and all 47 people showed up. I was wildly impressed!

After portraits, we moved to an extended cocktail hour, about an hour and a half. Jordan and Danny did their speeches and first dance as a couple outside on the patio. I loved it! The perfect venue and weather, why not stay outside a little while longer. Guests were able to enjoy the sun starting to dip down and I was able to grab more photos of the stunning hills and gardens that surround Bloom Meadows.

We moved on to dinner and dancing inside the white barn (okay the air conditioning did feel great at this point) and everyone was really enjoying themselves which is something I feel is so important on your wedding day. You want to not only get married and have fun, but host the best possible party for your guests. We moved through parent dances and Jordan’s dad sang a song which left not a dry eye in the barn. Witnessing special bonds like this is part of what makes my job as a wedding photographer so, SO special. The dance floor flooded with people pretty quickly, and I wasn’t there for too much longer but this fun group helped me get a lot of amazing photos.

The incredible setting that is Bloom Meadows doesn’t end there, guests love the indoor/outdoor experience and those who are not interested in dancing, can mingle outside by the fire pit (often equipped with s’mores ingredients) or enjoy the sunset in the adirondack chairs. The bistro lights pop on and honestly, it’s hard to keep people inside! Jordan and Danny served dessert outside which was another sweet touch. I love how they fully embraced every square foot of Bloom Meadows and made the most of this beautiful day.

Oh! And I almost forgot to mention. I was so inspired by the Bloom Meadow’s landscape and the gorgeous weather we had that day, that I photographed some film alongside my digital photos. Maybe I will share some of those in a separate post someday soon!
